# locate

|
|
> Find filenames quickly.
|
|
|
|
- Look for pattern in the database. Note: the database is recomputed periodically (usually weekly or daily):
|
|
|
|
`locate {{pattern}}`
|
|
|
|
- Recompute the database. You need to do it if you want to find recently added files:
|
|
|
|
`sudo /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb`
|
