ipmitool

  • Load the IPMI kernel module for local connections:

kldload ipmi.ko

  • Open IPMI shell on the local hardware:

ipmitool shell

  • Open IPMI shell on a remote host:

ipmitool -H {{ip_address}} -U {{user_name}} shell
