• Overwrite a file:

shred {{path/to/file}}

• Overwrite a file, leaving zeroes instead of random data:

shred --zero {{path/to/file}}

• Overwrite a file 25 times:

shred -n25 {{path/to/file}}

• Overwrite a file and remove it:

shred --remove {{path/to/file}}
