- Create an ext4 filesystem inside partition Y on device X:
sudo mkfs.ext4 {{/dev/sdXY}}
- Create an ext4 filesystem with a volume-label:
sudo mkfs.ext4 -L {{volume_label}} {{/dev/sdXY}}
