Currently `Activator` exposes `TraceHandler` for public usage that looks
more like a copy-paste from other similar bundles, where it was already
removed.
Major bump is a great opportunity to remove this public method.
- add a new fragment 'org.eclipse.cdt.core.linux.riscv64' containing
compiled riscv64 natives suitable for the Linux riscv64
platform.
- add the 'libserial.so' binary compiled for
Linux riscv64, for the serial communication interface.
- add the linux/gtk/riscv64 environment triplet to various Maven
build scripts to support building CDT software for that environment.
Fixes#980
It is already mentioned in the requirement section and therefore
duplicated requirement. Also org.eclipse.tm.terminal.connector.local has
a require-bundle so it will be included anyways.
To fix https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=460277 many years
ago some workarounds were added to the terminal to allow adapting
git inputs to locations to open a terminal with.
Since that workaround was added it is no longer necessary because egit
now adapts objects and provides selections in a way that means we don't
need it anymore. In particular 316d0971ad
adapts inputs to Files that we know how to open with.
Fixes https://github.com/eclipse-cdt/cdt/issues/1202
The plugin org.eclipse.tm.terminal.view.core is moved to platform and
should therefore be handled like any other third party dependency. It
actually is already part of the feature imports and the
org.eclipse.tm.terminal.view.ui require bundle it, so mentioning that
one is actually redundant and fixes it to that particular version
otherwhise.
Using:
```
mvn org.eclipse.tycho.extras:tycho-version-bump-plugin:4.0.12:update-manifest
```
and then multiple iterations to bump the bundle-version:
```
mvn verify org.eclipse.tycho:tycho-versions-plugin:4.0.12:bump-versions -Dtycho.bump-versions.increment=100 -DskipDoc=true -DskipTests=true -P baseline-compare-and-replace -fae -Djgit.dirtyWorkingTree-cdtDefault=warning
```
Make sure bounds of all dependencies match what we built against. This
prevents issues such as Bug 536448 from recurring. In 2025-06 there
are a number of Eclipse Platform changes that make CDT susceptible
to these types of issues again.
Note that this change is similar to previous iterations, such
as 1087dc5f22, but with the automatation
we can now apply this to *all* bundles.
In addition, with the tighter version constraints, building from
simrel repo for the jniheader (releng/scripts/do_rebuild_natives.sh)
is no longer sufficient. This speedup has been removed as it was probably
incorrect to have by default.
The api filters were introduced because some bundles are re-exported. Those
re-exported bundle requirements mean that technically we need to bump
the version, but in reality we effectively required the range as now
documented anyway, so doing a major version bump is unneeded.
The terminal control is migrated to the Eclipse platform, as those it
should be handled like a thrid-party dependency an not directly included
with an exact version in the feature.
This now changes it to a requirement with a lower bound of 5.5 excluding
the next major version. That way CDT and other consumers can gracefully
upgrade to the new platform variant.
the rest of Eclipse now uses UTF-8 as default encoding.
The tm.terminal code reverts to null when the encoding
begins with "Default" and this leads to UTF-8 being
selected from Charset.defaultEncoding instead of ISO-8859
when the displayed default value is selected.

Beta versions of maven plugins are omitted from this
upgrade.
A new version of Tycho brings in an update ECJ which means some
of the class files are different, hence the need to bump versions
of bundles too.
A new calendar year brings an update to Copyrights
- add a new fragment 'org.eclipse.cdt.core.win32.aarch64' containing
re-compiled Arm64 natives suitable for the Windows on Arm64 platform.
- add the 'serial.dll' binary re-compiled for Windows on Arm64.
- add the win32/win32/aarch64 environment triplet to various Maven
build scripts to support building CDT software for that environment.
The updated dlls/exes are not included in this commit and will be provided
in subsequent commits with the corresponding update to build infrastructure
Part of #969
* remove invalid tycho resolver config (not valid since many versions)
* fix PMD plugin configuration (config attribute was renamed in 3.18)
* remove duplicate versions already managed in pluginManagement section
* fix indentation
* move all not yet configured versions into pluginManagement of the
parent module to avoid further duplication
* consume the target platform as file, not as maven artifact (this
simplifies building a single module A LOT)
* remove invalid tycho-source-plugin configuration
* disable tycho consumer POM generation (not needed here, and avoids a
warning in each module)
* remove prerequisites. that's for maven plugins only, and this POM
already contains the better suited similar maven enforcer rule
* enforce UTF-8 for javadoc generation (the build fails on Windows
otherwise, trying to read some Japanese? characters with the Windows
default encoding)
Includes a new system property `org.eclipse.tm.terminal.control.convertBackspace`
to allow us to disable this new behaviour in the field if it turns out that
some terminal/host combination does not like this conversion.
Fixes#392
This escape sequence can be generated when using Powershell on
Windows (and possibly other places too) to erase number of
characters.

When a more complete implementation of ANSI Escape sequence for
renaming terminal titles was added in
[CDT 10.2](https://github.com/eclipse-cdt/cdt/blob/main/NewAndNoteworthy/CDT-10.2.md#rename-terminal-tab)
it caused a regression in use cases where extenders of the terminal
wanted to retain control of the terminal's title.
This commit adds a new flag that will prevent the title of the
terminal tab from being updated from ANSI escape sequences.
Fixes#494
Some bundles are bumped because dev happened between 11.2 release and
this version bump. The most significant change that happened
was the bump in Tycho version which changed ECJ version and
hence some class files changed
Part of #420
Includes:
- Sign all artifacts, particularly 3rd party with CDT's PGP key
- Using maven version managed and updated by EF Webmasters
- Update to latest SnakeYAML
- Move some 3rd party dependencies to Import-Package (instead of
Require-Bundle)
Fixes cases that cause stack trace like this when opening terminal
connection dialog and selecting ssh type:
```java
Warning in build.properties will be errors when they run
in the tycho build, like this:
```
Error: Failed to execute goal org.eclipse.tycho:tycho-packaging-plugin:2.7.5:package-plugin
(default-package-plugin) on project org.eclipse.cdt.core.tests:
/home/runner/work/cdt/cdt/core/org.eclipse.cdt.core.tests/build.properties:

```
So make them errors in the workspace so that the issue is
detected before push.
Some build.properties issues don't affect the build, but
are still indicative of a problem.
This mostly is using diamond operator, but includes
adding missing @Override and organizing imports and
applying formatting improvements in the JDT formatter.
The CDT Cleanup profile had a bunch of extra cleanups applied to it, this
prevents running the CDT cleanup profile manually to simulate running the
