  • Start nagios:

nagios /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg

  • Start nagios in daemon mode:

nagios -d

  • Start nagios, print service check scheduling information to stdout, then shutdown:

nagios -s

  • Verify configuration file:

nagios -v
